Rattling bonnet.

Hi all.

Is there anyway of stopping this through adjustments or am I going to have to get some rubber pads to stop it? It's very frustrating having paint wearing off the scuttle panel straight after a respray (as well as the sound of it).

There should be two mushroom shaped gromets sitting central on top of the scuttle panel.

Yep, I have those Sonnylad. The paint is rubbing on both far sides, at its worst near the battery terminal.

I glued rubber strips to the underside of the bonnet at all the contact points.

Problem solved.

I also renewed the rubber washes that fit into the metal securing plates on each wing..... I've seen alot of Cerbs were these washes are completely missing

I stuffed foam under, but after a while it perishes and needs replacing.. glueing rubber strips sounds better!

I finally got around to sorting this out on mine using some self adhesive neoprene sponge strips from fleabay, cut to what ever length you need. Working well so far

Had this on the Chimaera where the top edge of the bonnet rattled on the mesh below and started to wear the paint off. Used some off cuts of car door seal and pushed it on and it works a treat.
The Cerbie bonnet does rattle on the battery cover so need to do the same there.

My car is missing the rubber grommets - any ideas where to source them?

Right, I've decided to use an old cambelt that the mechanics no longer use. Once that's glued onto the scttle, that should cure it.

Glue them to the under side of the bonnet, it will look a right eye sore with rubber strips on the scuttle panel
