cannondale - how rebuild the head shock? And rear foxshock?

scalpel 800 full sus. Don't know the official name of the single shock which is part of the headset. I think it has leaked out its oil & is now effectively just a spring, it feels like. the rear fox shock also seems too weak, but no obvious leaks, just unused for a couple of years.
any pointers?

I seem to recall that specialist tools were required to service the head shock but I found this site which offers advice on self-servicing. Spares might be an issue though. http://www.fastglass.net/bike/headshok/index.html If you don't want to self service you could always look for a local Cannondale dealer and ask if they can still do them.

If the rear shock is too soft you might just need to add some air with a shock pump to firm it up a bit. If it doesn’t hold air then you’ll need to strip it and replace the seals or send it off to a company that specialises in shock servicing. TF Tuned & Mojo are two of the better known companies, servicing costs should be listed on their websites. Head shocks weren't great new TBH. I'd be tempted to fit a set of last seasons REBAs tbh as it'll cost you at least 100 quid for a service. A set of REBAS can often be had for 250 quid.
