Car check:"This registration is recorded as being exported."

Just run a check on a car I'm interested in buying. No oustanding finance or write-offs but it does say "the registration is recorded as being exported".

Any reasonable explanation or should I be worried? And no, I haven't asked the dealer yet as I'm hoping to get some ideas from here, and maybe some questions to ask the dealer before I call them. TIA.

Maybe the original car it was fitted to was exported and the plate since sold as a private plate?

Thanks, but it's just a bog standard 05 plate but yes, a possibility. My concern is that it was in an undeclared crash, exported to say Ireland, repaired and then brought back.
