Nice foggy morning this morning, which seemed to have no effect on the number of complete fkwits bimbling along the M4, staring intently on their iBlackphoneHTCberry. I wonder how much more dangerous this is, in terms of reduced attention, than using a mobile to talk on.

Can't see the problem myself. It's only a bit of a bind when I've got my Costa in my other hand and I'm steering with my knees.

I do see the problem, doing 70/80 mph then you need to be able to react to changing road conditions asap. For me, its unacceptable; idiotic infact (IMO).

And the fag. You forgot the fag.

But yes, I would contend that faffing around texting is far more dangerous than talking on a mobile on the move. At least you'd be looking broadly in the right direction!

Amateurs. I watch Youtube videos when I'm doing the morning commute. Felt a bump this morning but pretty sure it was just a pothole, although I did hear shouting shortly afterwards. I'm sure they were just saying "nice car man" though.

I usually see how many miles of the M6 a can go between looking up from watching my in-car tv. My current record is from jcn 38 down to 13, watching the Sunday omnibus of Coronation Street.

Feacesbook too.

The amount of times I'll pass a car, and there's an early 20s female driving, down the middle lane of the motorway, on fking facebook. REALLY?

Worst was the M1 last week, when I was in the middle lane with the traffic doing a steady 0.8 leptons, and one passed us all, a fair bit faster, in a 2003 KA. She must've been pushing 100mph and you could clearly see her phone in her hand, resting on the steering wheel as she scrolled through FACEBOOK. Blue & White is hardly the easiest to miss.

Hardly ogglin' when she's passing me and our lass says loudly:

"fking hell, she's on facebook whilst driving"

thus directing my attention easily.

Apparently it's more dangerous than being pissed at the wheel. Definitely more dangerous than being stoned as you're only going 5mph. (thanks to Bill Hicks for that one)

[flamesuiton] at which point I just swerve right over into their lane and give them a tandem of mainbeam and the horn, seems to wake them up! hehe [/flamesuiton]
