My old man bought a brand new Audi A4 in 2001. Within 10,000 miles the aircon button was nothing but a smudge on the dash and the volume control and radio station preset buttons were worn away also.

I was shocked at the quality of the materials used to coat the buttons. Is this still the case on the newer Audi's???

Why they coat their buttons instead of using some other alternative i'll never know. My 10 year old Beemer still has fresh buttons..

2012 A1 and it looks OK and seems good quality, although the soft touch plastic on the dashboard/ doors seems to mark easily

2000 Audi A4 2.7T here. Interior is fine and dandy no issues at all. Even the leather looks good (only has 110k miles on it though).
