I drove through southwick tunnel for the first time today
Dropped down a few gears, kicked the pedal floorwards, and ohhh that sound - Both ways
with windows down
Still getting used to gear changes (3rd is hard to find sometimes) roundabouts, lanes and driving in general, but getting the hang of the roads and loving every moment.
Being very cautious and grannylike - nothing wrong with that for noob drivers like me
But whats with the lax power crew that tailgate slow drivers, with lights flooding the rear view, following you OFF main roads into suberbia, expecting you to race(?) their 1886 ford lesscort?
Its happened twice since I got the car this week... Im just ignoring it, focusing on being sensible. Im not ready but if I took up every offer/potential offer, what sad world that would be.

I know what you mean. Picked mine up on Friday. Still got stupid grin, but I too sometimes have fun finding third. Seems to be a strain getting out of 2nd through the gate sometimes. Not sure if that's a general T5 trait or not - friend of mine (ex Griff owner) thought it was tighter than normal, but I'll see how it goes.

Was having a gentle pootle round some country lanes Friday night, just getting used to how it drives. Blasting the straights then woosing the corners, and this 1.6 escord "thing" appeared behind me, right on my a**e. Does he really think I want to race him?? Other than that, had no chavs wanting a race or owt yet.

Ive got my priorities sorted, racing isnt one of them, and they shot by when I did an emergency stop. (Id smoked my last fag, and had to visit the glovebox stash for another)

Hey Bob - nice wheels on that S. What are they? They work very well - they look a bit like Chimaera alloys with a nice twist.
Thanks Tefor They're BK Racing alloys BK146, and were fitted by adrian blythe pre-sale to the last owner, 15 front and 16 at the back
I didnt know what they were till fellow phers helped google up an actual make.derekg500 said:
Oh bugger..just noticed that you,re in Sussex, are you coming down to the Wsst Sussex meet at Goodwood today?
Cant make it today... I dont think
Still taking people who havnt been for rides, for rides, will do a search for the thread in a mo and see what its about. Is it a general TVR meet? UKbob said:

3rd can be a bugger to find sometimes. Be ready to Double D if you are struggling to find it heading into a corner.
Last year I replaced the bushes for the gearbox mountings and the problem was mostly solved. I think that the gearbox was mounted slightly awkwardly and this was causing a problem against the gate.

The meet is just our monthly regional get together, beer and a chat sort of thing. It's a good drive for a few of us from Horsham, if you're interested in next months run just drop me a line and I'll give you details of where we meet etc.
Happy motoring.
