Going against the grain of "normal Eurobarge shoppers "

Give us your reccommendation for a second hand car up to 15k value thats a bit more " Fun " only condition it must be an automatic / Kids will be 3 years and New born , so will have to be able to fit a cabriofix in the back.

You're asking for a recommendation for any car with 4 or more seats. You could go with almost anything, so to keep from being a clich, stay away from estates. You're unlikely to need the extra space.

Edit: I used my 10,000th post to say that?

We could probably do with some more criteria, but I would be looking at the following as I have kids and reconise the need for space:

- Subaru Legacy 3.0R Spec B
- Audi S6 Avant
- Volvo V70 T5
- BMW 545i Touring

Personally I feel that with 2 kids the 3 seris, A4, C Class etc are all too small (especially with a baby travel system)

Landrover 110

Immune to supermarket dents
Loads of space

And most importantly for those with children an interior that you can hose down

not automatic though..... (unless you pay a nice gentleman several thousand pounds to wedge a Discovery gearbox in it)

How much can you get a 335 Tourer for now? That may be a good option (if in budget)

Mmmmm......it's not exactly a PH car but my wife and I are really enjoying our new S-Max 240 Ecoboost which we picked up for 17K. Not sure if they are down to 15k yet though. The handling is pretty good, it has 240bhp so it's reasonably nippy and the Powershift dual clutch auto box is a great bit of kit.

Have a look at Toyota landcruisers. They're fantastic cars, lots of space. Comfortable drive. Reliable. I feel 4x4s to be safer than the alternative smaller cars which, for me, would be important if I had kids.

+1. Mostly auto (d is auto only, very few 335is are manual), comfy, fast and we fit our family (2 kids and a dog as well as a wife) into it fine. My wife absolutely loves it too (335d).

15k is just about do-able now.

Otherwise a 330d/330i should be in budget.

Oh I dunno, im sure there's some utterly essential "travel system" bks that'll have a good go at filling it

I would always go for estate or hatchback if you have all the kids junk with you. I can fill the boot of a RRS for a weekend away and we only have 1!

Regarding the Subaru, we have an Outback with the 3.0ltr H6, cracking engine if a little thirsty. The cars are generally bombproof and handle and go very nicely.
