Lexus LS 460 2007/8 what to look for / your thoughts etc

Hi Guys, time for a change of car methinks.
I seem to have fallen for the idea of a current shape Lexus LS460 SE-L probably around 2007/8. Now, I know that they're big, and heavy, and will go through fuel like there is no tomorrow, but that aside, they are loaded with toys, and have surely got to be the ultimate vehicle to waft around in?
Does it share the 100% reliabiliy that the Lexus family normally enjoys, or with all the gizmos, does it give an electrical error everytime you hit a pothole?
Will it be a complete pig in a poke to sell on in say 18 months time, as the whole planet will be running miles from a 4.6 V8 by then, screaming "earth killer" at me, or is that even the case now? and so I'm possibly the only guy that would even entertain buying one of these monsters?
I'm looking for the thoughts of the group on this, good, bad, don't do it etc
