Key-fob recode and Siren replacement.

Just a heads up, I've just replaced my alarm with a recoded item from Abacus car alarms.
I got my current fob recoded to the alarm unit and 2 new fobs as well, a new siren (old one had died, no siren or battery back up) and a new touch key.
24 hour turn around all for 185.
Great service and I can thoroughly recommend them.

Well I can thoroughly not recommend these at the moment!
Car no longer locks, roll up does not function, interior lights do not turn off when you close the drivers door (does with the passenger though) and you have to de-activate the immobiliser EVERY time you want to start the car....
Just emailed them so await a response in the morning.

Carl wasn't interested in just replacing my siren when I last spoke to him. Wanted £500 odd to replace the whole system. Which at the time I didn't want to do.
Carl told me he couldn't get the Mark 1 alarm sirens any more, hence the need to change the alarm unit and new alarm siren. Made sense to me but it did cost the best part of £500. It's a black art to me so I had no real choice!!It's been fine since.

The new siren I've got just needs an extra wire plugging in to make it work ok.
Just spoken to Sam and he's given me a few pointers. Sounds like an alarm to door control box comms issue combined with a dying immobiliser.
Will carry out the checks tonight but he has offered to swap the recently re-coded alarm if I have to buy the new immobiliser.

Well, after a nice chat with Sam and a bit of info from him regarding signals out of the alarm. I traced the locking issue back to the door control module and then subsequently the drivers door proximity switch. Adjusted it one turn and all is well! Doors lock, roll up functions and lights turn off.
The immobiliser still won;t remain deactivated but Sam thinks this could well just be the immobiliser dying and has kindly offered to swap my recently re-coded alarm and fobs for another if I purchase a replacement immobilliser (to allow the digital sync between the alarm and new immobiliser).
tbh I'd lost faith in suppliers what with my recent Trinary switch lack of information, fan supplier dicking me about for 2 weeks! and then not supplying all the parts and the handbrake cable that didn't fit.
Still it's nice to find someone willing to assist even when it wasn't his problem.
