SWMBO wants hide all the TV/Audio stuff away out of sight, but its all operated by IR.

We've got the usual Sky, PS3, Amp and she wants it somewhere it cant be seen but can still be operated by remote.

I'm totally stumped - I have no issue with it being on view, after all thats why its designed well, but are there any options for remote remote control??

You have an opportunity for gadgetry here idea

Stick everything in the cupboard miles away, then make her change the DVDs. One week later - she will require you to buy a decent media server.

Welcome. Just place one unit [the receiver ] anywhere in the room and the other one [transmitter] facing the kit in the cabinet. We sold 100s and had no issues

I recently needed a TV stand as well and ended up thinking a little outside the box.....

I got one of these,

And took the legs off. It looks fantastic and is great quality/solid. The doors are copper and the design matches up from door to door. Cable, PS3 and Wii are all in the cabinet and controlled by a logitech 900 remote so nothing on show. The only down side is that we now don't have a visible clock. The original price for the unit is $1400 but I picked it up at $140.

Here it is with my 58" Panasonic,

Everything is controlled by Logitech 900 with the exception of the PS3 but that is only because I have not bought the PS3 adapter yet

Very much like mine - TV, Denon AV Amp, Humax, PS3 all controlled by a harmony one with an IR repeater from Keene.

Things usually get pretty warm when all the gear is tucked away ~ extra ventillation holes and/or a fan might be on the agenda.

This is true, it killed my old fat PS3 and I have extra ventilation in the back as well. Was considering a silent pc fan option but all's been ok since.

I did this with our TV and surround sound system. I ended up running all the cables and stuff to a cupboard in the upstairs spare room. We use one of those passive IR send/receivers to change stuff. It works great and keeps all the clutter out the way.

Only problem is changing dvds you need to go upstairs but its no hassle really
