Trolley jack - lowered car
Discussion
Evening,
i'd like a trolley jack to change winter / summer tyres over, so in reality it won't get much use.
trouble is they are mostly around 6" when fully lowered, which won't fit under my car. seen a nice one in machine mart at c110, ideally i'd not want to spend this much, anyone used any others successfully?
thanks

I've got the Clarke racing jack from Machine Mart. It's an excellent bit of kit.
Nice and low so it'll fit under the car easily and also nice and light to make carting it around easier. It also has a nice big rubber pad on it so it won't damage the underside of the car.
I got mine in store on clearance (it was an ex display, unused but without the packaging and only paid about 75 quid for it

Or you can wait until they do one of their VAT off days. I haven't had an invite to one for a while, so one must be due soon........Nice and low so it'll fit under the car easily and also nice and light to make carting it around easier. Oh, and I've got the ally jack as well - needed it for the Elise. It's a nice well made bit of kit. I'd recommend it.

I can thoroughly recommend the Clarke racing one.
As an aside, it always amazes how few trolley jacks will fit under anything even vaguely sporty. I can understand it with Caterhams or track cars, but my 924 is hardly a paired down track car - the comfort-orientated suspension looks like it's set up for the Dakar - and yet the standard jack I had until recently still wouldn't go under.
Another thumbs up for the Clarke Alu racing jack - Mine's been great, gets used all the time. I even had a problem where something contaminated the ram (I didn't spill anything all over it...honest :-P ) and Machine Mart sent it off for a new one, had it back within a week. Well worth the money.
Machine Mart will also soon be selling a Clarke low profile jack for 35.98

It's probably not going to be as good a quality as some, but for occasional use it should be adequate. So once they're in stock I'm going to buy one.
