When my dad took a look of pics of the concept, he said that he will swap his E-type for this.

It will come with 3.0 supercharged V6(~380 bhp) and an electric motor (95 bhp)
Electric motor control can be in automatic or used with boost button get instant 475bhp for 10-15s.
0-60mph under 4s according to Jaguar.

A mule has been seen in testing with current XK body style.

Edit: sorry for the typo in title, it should be CX-16

Convertible launch date is April 2013.

Coupe follows a year later.

Expect it to be high 50k's up to 80k for 5.0 V8 SC

Is this confirmed? I'm currently expecting mine late 2012 but have heard nothing since placing deposit last November so wouldn't be surprised.

Convertible being first was confirmed in AutoCar last week.

I'm first on my dealers list but they have nothing specific yet.

I think there's a bit of confusion here. The xk replacement may be out next year, but the CX-16 is the smaller sports car (as opposed to the XK being a GT). CX-16 won't have V8, and hybrid is doubtful.

Only what I've read.

They were considering a V8 option when I attended a customer workshop last summer.

I may be getting confused, and the C-X16 is the new XK. The new small sports car, due out 2014+ is V6 only. ,

CX-16 will be V6 to start with. Other drivetrains will follow.

The CX-16 allows room in the Jag lineup for the XK to grow and become more expensive. CX-16 will be the smaller sports car, the XK the GT.

I've got one on order but seeing as I already have a similar looking coupe, Mrs HRD is now quite interested in the Roadster version of the Jag. The local dealer did say the Roadster would come out at the end of this year and the coupe to follow about April 2013, so it's interesting that the date has been pushed back to next year for all variants.

I guess we'll see once they have something more concrete to offer.

I think we'll know more at next months New York motor show. Supposedly the official green light and "potential" delivery dates will be announced.

Kenc , C-X16 def launches April 2013, not in 2012.

Which dealer did you place your order with?

We (dealers) were hoping it would be late this year but I have told all my customers spring 2013 for customer deliveries.

Amazing how may customers are first in line for one.

C-X16 is not the XK replacement which will be 2015 and a bigger, proper 2+2

Launch engines will be V6 supercharged, 340bhp, a 380bhp with a mad top of the range 5.0 V8 supercharged later on.

I do wish that dealers would be honest with customers and not misinform them. The conv is out April 2013 with the coupe following a year later. We may be lucky and get the coupe a little earlier than April 2014.

There is room in the engine line up for a diesel as well, some sort of hybrid technology will work its way in, possible a kers type system, not the Toyota Prius type system.

Hope this helps

Ferdy - will it be a rag top? I'd heard some rumours that they were going tin-top.

Yep - that's what I was referring to in my earlier post. It was a Jaguar article which included stuff on the CX-16

My order is with a dealer in north Kent and I believe I am first in line. I knew that the convertible was likely to be launched first but thought the coupe would follow soon after. The timeframe you mention for the coupe would mean that I'd have to rethink this purchase.

How is your order book for these car?

Our order book is very strong, the wait will be worth it.

Do not cancel your order, you should be able to "sell" your slot if you cannot wait that long for the car to launch.

We have also been advised that stock will be very limited. You can expect there to be a long waiting list

USA have already said that they will take 50% of all production.

We have been reminded that as franchised dealer we should not sell at above recommended retail, but I am sure that some people will be able to sell above list.

Maybe at long last we will have a car with good residual values.

How they can be taking orders when there are no official specs or prices? And is preorder business only in UK?
