Hotel Recommendations - return leg Lake Como to Calais

Looking for hotel recommendations for a return drive we're doing post-Lake Como to Calais, trying to split the journey up over couple of days. Any suggestions for places :

- Hotel between Basel / Pierry / Reims
- Prefer champagne region

Any other suggestions ? alternate routes back to Calais that folks recommend ?
