Ok all i'm loving my Cerb so far and time for first tweaks...

With summer on the way and intending to do LeMans this year i'm trying to make her traffic jam proof rolleyes

So it's new silicone hoses, ACT do a 9 piece kit and a full kit ! is it possible to access all pipes to do the full kit without major problems ?

Also replacing Thermostat and housing and coolant Temp sensor ( my sensor failed on day i picked up car ! )

From reseach on here it's looking like red OAT coolant with distilled water to fill up with again using 50 / 50 mix, how much needed please ?

Any tips before heading in there much appreciated biggrin

All easy to get at with minimal stripping! If you are changing the sensor youd be best to get the stainless coolant pipes aswell just to make life a little easier, and the bay a little prettier. I always used the blue coolant, this is subject to debate. Remember to jack up the nose when refilling coolant to get it right and follow the correct procedure to avoid getting an airlock. Also mark up where everything goes and draw yourself a pic (theres one on here if you search) as the thermostat can easily be put in wrong.

HTH!

If you change to stainless water pipes, be careful when you unscrew the bulb/capillary tube from the pipe boss. If you damage the bulb or tube you will have to send your whole temperature gauge away to be repaired. They do not separate.

If you're getting the ACT kit then make sure that you get the "rear", small-diameter pipe that connects to the Water Rails and Header Tank as well. Tim didn't usually include this in his earlier kit but will do now, if you specify it.
These pipes are interconnected (currently) with a piss-arsed piece of plastic, gardening-hose joinery. There are parts suppliers who have a Brass version of this three-way connector. I would recommend this highly.

Well busy day yesterday with my first ( of many ) strip down of the Cerb.

Arms are scared from cable ties and there was a lot of cursing trying to get the old coolant pipes off ! yes cutting them is the only way but still painfull at times

Oh what you learn first time round smile

First prob was realising the old steel pipes where going to have to be replaced !!!!

rusty internals were pretty shocking eek

So question please people is my new thermostat is slightly different to old one so need to double check flow direction

pic of old one still installed

The new and old

direction stated to motor

now i'm assuming the arrow would not go up towards rad ?
I'm thinking it would run across the rads to drivers side connecting to hard pipe that then goes to base of motor

Or is it the wrong stat ?????
