Wheel Nut washers
Discussion
For anyone's info, I've had a set of new wheel nut washers made up out of stainless by a local CNC shop to replace the plated originals which are looking a bit tired (although you can't see much of them with the nuts on). See pic.
28 GBP for a full set of 20 (Uk addresses 1st class delivered, overseas extra) - but my chap said that would reduce by 15% if we had 10 sets. If anyone's interested let me know. This is not an advert and I'm not making anything from it - just thought I'd share the details.
Cheers

Yup, Bi-metallic or galvanic corrosion.
Not a good mix, however if sealed against water and salt ingress should be ok, (the surfsces must be wet to make a "cell" in order for them to corrode).
I "painted" the wheel contact faces with a layer of clear nail varnish to be sure, but to be honest I nearly didn't bother after discussing with a materials engineering colleague and taking a look at the actual "risks" of heavy dissimilar corrosion (very very limited was his view). They're on an off several time a year anyway for checks and sure beat the corroded dis-coloured plated washers Not a good mix, however if sealed against water and salt ingress should be ok, (the surfsces must be wet to make a "cell" in order for them to corrode).
