So im going to be a dad.

Currently im driving a suzuki wagon r, that is half owned between me and my mother.

Im 21 and the plan was for me to sort myself out with a fiesta or suchlike, but now circumstances have changed and the best option for me, looks to be to sell the suzuki, and replace it with somthing ill be happy with for a few years.

After looking at various different cars, it turns out I can sell the suzuki, and buy a civic vti aerodeck without actualy spending a penny. I can also insure it for a very reasonable 1500 a year.

So, im asking the PH massive what they make of these motors? Anyone got one, had one, had six?

They seem rare, but the ones that are about are reasonably priced, and it seems alot of car for the money.

Would love to hear all views regarding this car, and the b18c engine.

Cheers guys!

Cheers mate, I can see youve been over this before!

Interesting fact about insurance...

The estate is bringing in quotes at half the price of a hatchback or vti s!

To be honest, although I was impressed with the aerodeck, I went for a primera instead. So far I haven't regret that decision. However, for a small family, the aerodeck does make sense. And cheaper insurance is a huge bonus.

We had one a few years ago
Decent car, reliable, but the engine didn't really suit it. A high revving vtec is fine in crx but seemed a bit odd for an estate. You won't dislike it but you may think it's just a bit incongruous.

I had one. Perfect family car for a petrol head. Reliable, decent interiors, well built, quick when using the vtec, economical enough when off it, cheap servicing. The only downside are the marmite looks. Get one in pirate black.

Firstly congratulations and secondly, friendly bit of advice, you don't need an estate car for one child. So don't rule out other options. A Focus sized car in 5 door hatchback form is more than adequate!

I have one - well have literally just bought an accord type r , so it is soon up for sale ! - and have had it for about 4 years. It has been a great car. Fun , practical and cheap to buy and run. Especially compared to its other VTI / Type r stable mates. 170 horse power as standard and due to the vtec / IAB design its good on fuel if driven sensibly. I have done a few mods to mine , namely cat back exhaust , integra dc2 air box, full MGZS suspension and rear anti-roll bar so it handles alot better now.

I had it dynoed after 11 years on the road and it pulled 169 HP - just as it left the factory !.

Down sides , well as standard the suspension is too high. The interior is typical 90s jap so not alot of refinement. Also when standard it is nice and quiet really but high geared on the motorway at say 80ish.

Otherwise I cant really think of more downsides. Size wise its not actually that big an estate so with one kid it just gives a bit bigger boot and is easier to load with the buggy etc. I changed to mine when I had the one kid in a bit of a coincidence.

GO for it , oh and look out for mine !. lOl

They do look an interesting car - tried one a while back but ended up with a Primera GT as the one I looked at sold quite quick

Definately got an eye on yours stoatman, very nice indeed, and from my research, you seem to have done everything I would be!

Im pretty set on one of these now to be honest.

Just seems so much car for the money, and the insurance seems to be the deal clincher.
