Good afternooon!
Just finished servicing and taxing my little Fiesta ST Mountune as it will be up for sale in the coming week.
I am in a situation where in a couple of years I will have a company car, somthing along the lines of a boring 1600cc diesel hatch back.
So before this time comes, I would like a car thats at the opposite end of the scale to this, before I end up in a boring eco-mobile. Somthing fast, fun and exciting.
The criteria;
50p - 9k
Fairly new/Reliable
Plenty of mid range power and shove
Preferabley 4 seats
MPG N/A
Handeling (it will be tracked every so often but aslong as its not a bus there is no issue)
Reasonable build quality
Now the hard bit. Being 21 there is still some cars I can not get insured on, and the general guide is anything along the lines of; M3's, EVO's, Impreza STI territory.
So far the Focus ST has been a winner, Its got a good amount of power and has alot of aftermarket parts to increase the power too. It seems reasonably built, good value, good handeling and insurable.
At the moment I has disregarded the:
Astra VXR - A friends feels a bit cheap and has had constant gearbox issues.
Mazda 3 MPS - Really not to keen on the looks of the older shape.
RS Clio/Civic Type R - As I would love some midrange punch.
So I am hoping the members of PH will either be able to put me straight on the cars I have written off, offer some other suggestions, and through a few curve balls in the the mix.
Thank you very much!!!
