Wipers getting stuck

My passenger side wiper seems to be getting caught up with the drivers side wiper and getting stuck half way up the screen. I have to keep getting out to free it up then it will be ok again for a short while before happening again. Both are 16" which I believe is the correct length for them. Anyone had this happen and is there a simple way of fixing it?
The wipers aren't stalling, they're just getting stuck on each other. I think the passenger side wiper is getting ahead of the drivers side half way up the wiping process which is what is tangling them together and stopping them. Once I move the wiper it starts working fine again. I've noticed there is quite a lot of play in the drivers side wiper so this might be the cause. I've tried tightening the bolt in the wiper arm but it hasn't stopped it. Not sure what else to try as I've never done anything with the wipers before so I don't really know how the whole mechanism works.
Check them when parked, and see if one needs moving on the spindle, if drivers side one, make sure it doesn't sweep past the windscreen pillar.
If you undo the nut you should be able to lift arm off the splines and reposition slightly differently, probably enough to stop catching. Sorry if explanation seems vague, but easier to do than explain.

Thanks, I think that's fixed it for now. I've moved it higher up although there's still a lot of play in the wiper so it might need replacing. At least it's fixed for tomorrow, after that I might just get my local garage to look at it next time it's in. I really hate anything to do with DIY.
