wanted a good 2+2 coupe/sports car for a while now. 4k is total max for this buy. The RX8 looks like the perfect match for me. I carry my 5 year old in the back 3-4 times a week to shops and football. I use my van for the commute to work and the wife has a Picasso snorter to ferry the rest of the brood about in

No mention of service history which is obviously a big worry.
Without the fully documented history and a compression test on the engine I'd leave an rx8 well alone.

This.

Very tricky car to sell right now, so you can afford to be picky. Should be able to get one with a compression test just done for similar money or less.

Or you could just risk it.

Plenty about as said, and without those wheels.

I would rather go skinny dipping in a stinging nettle bush than entertain an rx8 now!

They are good cars, issues with hot starting and low compression don't bother me, they are one of the hardest cars out there to punt on, about as desirable used as a city rover! If you don't like it your stuck with it...

I would look at something like a 330ci, if you can find something like a club sport or an indvidual then it will stand out and be easier to move come sale time. Audi TT is another option.

4k max buys a pretty grotty 330Ci Clubsport and whilst it will buy a 330Ci Sport you'll be wanting to spend money to bring it up to scratch which will take it over the 4k max.
