Hay grabs win whilst Keen struggles in scrutineering

Richard Hay secured victory at Oulton Park today ahead of Lee Caroline. Caroline unusually wasn't in a position to mount a forceful attach on the leader after tinkering with the setup of his car. He managed to catch Hay but didn't show the turn of pace we've come to expect from the champion.

Richard Hay deserved the victory nevertheless, driving a faultless race. Phil Keen had led but was passed by Hay half way through the race. He immediately dropped another place as he sought third gear. Lee Caroline took the opportunity to pass putting Keen between himself and David Mason who'd been giving him a hard time.

Keen took third place but that was looking to be in jeopardy after scrutineering. The bodywork on Keen's car was too close to the ground and looked to be infringing the rules. The decision was still in the balance some time after the race. If Keen was to be excluded then third place would be handed to David Mason.

Phil retained his 3rd place - although had any of the other drivers protested he may have had a problem. None did, they're all pretty mellow
