Dunlops Vs Toyo's Vs Yoko A048R

as the title says whats the best or are they all pretty much the same I've run Michelin Pilot Cups and Toyo's on my 96 RS and they've both got they're good and bad points I love the Michelins in warm Dry conditions (useless in Damp/Wetconditions) but the Toyo's are not as good in warm Dry Conditions (I find they go off fairly quickly) but are better in the damp/wet and are now not road legal so I'm now thinking of swithching to Either the Dunlop Direzza DZ03G or the Advan A048R's anybody run either of these on they're 911 and can give a back to back comparisson would be very helpful

been running R888for last 6 years never had any issues and i push hard must be ur driving style as for Dunlops heard good reports few friends have just bought them approx £750 set .... yokos heard rs is too heavy better suited for single seaters????

I was going to buy these one's as I couldnt find anywhere in the UK that supplied them:

So bought MPSC instead, previously used DZ02G on M3 CSL.

Thought DZ02G were great, they can take some stick and never seem to wear. They take a few more laps to warm up then cups but no difference I found in handling

As they are not road legal I went for the cups to drive to and from track rather then take another set of rims.

The DZ03G Hard compound will be money well spent and will last the same as 1.5 to 2 times a set of cups.

New Toyo's will not carry the E mark so therefore will not be road legal in the UK or europe sad but true unfortunately thus the change in tyre manufacturer for me as I won't be chancing it, if you drive hard and fast for 6/7 laps on GP circuits the toyo's tend to go off (lose grip once they get into they're higher temp range which is why they're better than MPC's in cool Damp/wet conditions.....BTW were not hanging around out there yer know...LOL.....whereas the MPC's grip is much better once it get's into it's higher temperature range but are pants in damp/wet conditions) but it's time for a change and I like the fact the Dulops are like the toyo's I'll be able to swap them L ot R once part worn (my Geo set up noshes the inner edges) the Yokies are similar price to MPC's so for that reason I'm out

Have you heard that from Toyo UK themselves? as I was looking to get some of these again soon and had not heard from anyone [inc.any suppliers] that these would not have E mark. If definitely right,why are they not E marked as many similar tyres still are?

I bought a048's for my modded 6TT last year as I could not source R888 (post earthquake supply issues) and I have been very impressed for a road and track capable tyre. They warm up ok, don't seem to degrade quickly and seem to offer predictable breakaway. Not as good an outright track tyre as the Toyo.

Not "E" marked does not mean they are not road legal, it just means that a tyre dealer cannot sell the tyre for road use.

You wont find an "E" mark on the tyres on a Japanese import car, but you are OK to drive on those so long as they meet UK construction and use regs, which basically say the tyre has to be fit for purpose and have the minimum tread depth and pattern.

I've a set of DZ03G in 235/45x17 in H1 compound that have done 10 minutes on the snetterton 300 track late last year, they are like new. I'm selling them as i am concentrating on sprints this year and this compound is too hard for that application. Going up for sale on here and eBay today.

I run the A048R on my Caterham. Fantastic on the track in the dry, in the wet they are terrible. The grip level in the dry is massive and they make the car really stick.
