As above. Does the use of the sport button to increase the power make any difference to the fuel consumption?
Yes I know you don't buy this car foir fuel economy but it might be nice to know.

Whoever wrote what you read needs to take his / her head to the toilet.

There is no difference in fuel economy in either mode. The only thing that changes is the amount that the throttle opens when you have your foot to the floor. In a nutshell, in P400 mode you'll get up to 80% of the available throttle opening, in P500 you get up to 100% of the throttle opening. Its only how you drive that makes the ecomy change. Granted, in P500S you'll use more juice as the car urges you to drive it harder.

Good point well made.

It's so easy to just let it run in 400 mode because it's plenty quick enough for most roads (an legal speeds!!!) but I love hitting the M button because it really unleashes a beast. I have it set to P500S and Sport mode for EDC. Is this pretty much the full on nutter mode that everyone has?

I keep my car in P400 mode 90% of the time as i like to keep the M button feeling 'special'. My current 'fun' settings:

I dont normally use S6 as i find it too brutal and i like my tyres in one piece for as long as possible. As for the suspension, i like mine firm when pressing on but actually the softer setting is better for getting the power down to the wheels without the TC light flashing away. Guys who've ran 1/4 miles in these cars also record slightly quicker times with the suspension set to sof mode.

Cant say Ive ever used p400 other than on the way home after I 1st bought it! Just felt dull with poor throttle response.

Downside of the 500s mode is it really is easy to keep winding the motor up which does nothing for the economy!...but then did any of us buy them for thier fuel efficiency? wink

Swinging towards one of these next, heard a lot of horror stories about not having a warranty and fuel consumption! But 500 bhp is appealing, e46 m3 at th mo!!
