As title realy is there likley to be a car tax hike in the budget ?

As I normally get stung by this I'd say yes! Its very unlikely to be going down

I've heard that it's being abolished and an additional vehicle duty is being put on diesel an petrol. Makes sense as it saves the cost of printing the disks and keeping track of sorn etc.

I've done both of mine just in case. It's not going to go down, you can be sure of that! £240 odd for the 182 and £143 for the 650, only 6 months as its replacement is on order.

Can you tax on line 10 days before its due? I usually support my local post office and get my tax there.

Definately. I was well raped a few years ago on an RX8. Reminder said £200 or so for year....cue budget...got to Post Office and hey presto...over £400 quid!

Thanks for the reminder - was going to leave it until the end of the month but looking through my old tax discs, it's gone £215 - £245 - £260 - will prob jump up to around £280 tomorrow most likely!

£460 for a car that the air is cleaner coming out of the exhaust than city centre air, go figure confused
