Track day advice

Thinking of taking my newly aquired Cerb on fairly tame track day, maybe Msv at Brands ?

Any suggestions ? Does anyone know the rough db level for a standard sp6 ? Cheers.

If you can, go to Bedford, you have to try quite hard to damage your car there. Brands is not a big circuit, but it is very difficult in places, with limited run-off, so for an easy life go to Bedford (also MSV).

As it happens my first Cerb track day was at brands...

The 98dBA Noise limits at Bedford will be a struggle for a Cerb - particularly the drive-by check. Brands is a bit more generous at 105dBA. I strongly advise you to book a tuition session at whichever circuit you end up going to. You will get vastly more out of your day at very little extra cost!

Where abouts are you? MotorSports Events runs cheap trackdays at airfields around the M4 corridor. Plenty of run off on those.

When I went the Bedford with Neil 'Rawhide' his 4.2 with cats and standard exhaust had no problems at all. However there was another Cerb there (which I didn't see) that failed the the static test, even with tail pipe insert type track day silencers fitted. I think he was decatted with Sports pipes.

An airfield type trackday may well be a very good choice as Byker28i suggests.

Just to add to this my system was standard and the rev limit was declared at 6k so I was tested at 4k. It passed at 98db which IS the limit. So don't consider Bedford definately a safe track. It may depend on the state of your back box etc.

Make sure you put decent pads and fluid in it, otherwise its pedal to the floor time, or your pads melt.
