Anyone see Topgear last night? The car returned a ridiculous 4 MPG under test conditions! And, surprise surprise, Clarkson's one of 28 UK owners. Shocker!

Thought the GT40 Car park bit was funny, as for the 75 Mile Range

Missed the Maserati Bit. How much did they slag it off then?

He didn't. He pointed out that for day to day sedate driving conditions, you would get a smoother quieter ride from a Jaguar or Mercedes... but get it on the open road with a few twisties thrown in and WOOHOO! That's when it really starts to make sense.

The Maser looked and, especially sounded, superb. Wouldn't mind one myself in a few yrs after depreciation's kicked in.

Did anyone actually watch the program or was it only me?

The Ford GT got 4mpg on the track. My diablo has easily seen 2, maybe 3mpg...and I'll bet anyone on here with a 360CS sees no more than that when tracked. In reality that car is getting MILES more than that figure, and actually has a range of about 200 miles...

they were trying too hard to get some vague story out of it I think

Yeah track MPG is fairly irrelavant My tvr tsmin racer with a 2.8 v6 gets about 5mpg... and a road car can get 25..
