Cedric Sharpley RIP
Discussion
really cool guy - I always thought that he was the antithesis of Numan's stark, machine-like sound of 79/80 and yet he also complemented beautifully. He also once gave me a pair of drum sticks when I was hanging around the backstage entrance of The Venue in London after I been to see Dramatis playing a gig there - 1982 I think.
RIP.
RIP.
Gary Numan's sound got me into music in a big way, and The Pleasure Principle was the sound track to my youth. I can't believe another person from my youth has gone. I only met Cedric once, and he was a nice fella. A short while back Mick Karn passed away, and there was Paul Raven from Killing Joke as well. I feel old seeing my hero's slip away, when you're twenty you are going to live forever. Then one day as you are older, mortality is on your shoulder. RIP Cedric.
