I have just acquired a 2007 2.0 Sport (no service history other than the PDI) and need to get everything properly checked out (bought from an auction see). Any recommendations for a good and trustworthy specialist (who can give me lots of good info on mods etc) would be greatly apprciated. Preferably within 20 miles of Leeds. Thank you in advance.

Sorry for this answer as the garage is in Lancashire and not within 20 miles but you have not got any other recommendations

CBS Autos in Nelson check out the feedback on the Mazda forums and their website real MX5 enthusiasts

Another at the extreme end (20 odd miles) is Stephen Ward at Greenway Garage near York (www.greenwaygarage.com)

I'm new to him but he had a few Mazdas in when I was there and seems to know his stuff on them. I'll be using him for all my work from now on.

Check out Paul Roddison of Roddison motor sport in Sheffield. Have a look on MX5Nutz.

Highly recommended and just off j34 of the M1. A bit far maybe, but very very good.

Have you been in contact with Mazda? I know the MX5s service was all computerised with no service books.

Yes, electronic "stamp" at 4150, but no documented evidence of anything else since. Having said that, the oil and air filters are not perished and are Fram and K & N products so it has had care and service of some sort, just not by the Mazda dealer. I'll be making a call to Roddison's this week I think, just to have them check everything out and give me some recommendations. Thanks for the replies.

http://www.mx5motors.com/ are just off the A1 near Doncaster. Steve only does Mx5's and rotaries, and he's been excellent with mine, really knows his stuff.
