Curses I've been spotted......
Seriously though it is Old Hag Syndrome
Might want to keep her away from the "supernatural" explanations though.

Hallucinating whilst awake and able to move and speak is not normal. She's probably just using womantalk to get you to do or say something instead of coming right out and asking you.
"Oh there's someone in the bedroom!" means "Get up and check the windows and the doors because I feel vulnerable and if you don't do this then you don't love me and I'll sulk for a week then shag your mate."

for years i used to get this all the time, and really is not pleasant.. Might want to keep her away from the "supernatural" explanations though.
trying to scream Fffff...FFfffff... "F*** OFF!" would eventually snap me out of it (tho my bed would be soaked with sweat by that stage.. which was also not pleasant!)
.. guests at my house would often comment on hearing me swear in my sleep.
it all stopped when i moved house.
My niece does this. She gets night terrors and when her parents go to her, she will sometimes respond to them but will still stare at the place in the room where she thinks the monster is. She will be shaking with terror and seems to be awake, but she can't focus on you until she fully wakes up.
She has done this for a couple of years, I doubt she is faking it as she is only 7 now.

can adults get night terrors though? lolShe has done this for a couple of years, I doubt she is faking it as she is only 7 now.
How can i induce sleep paralysis because i love it i think its a bizarre but enjoyable experience
Had it twice - first time thought there was someone/thing trying to get in the room - the paralysis of not being able to scream out is horrific. The second time I managed to reason with myself a bit as I knew what was going on - (but still tried to scream out).
Learned two things - 1. can now see why people believe in Alien abductions, and 2. I'm a bit of big-girl's blouse for wanting to scream.
