Whats the best car wax you have used!!
Discussion
Dear Pher's
I would like to try and establish what is the best car wax on the market and why! I have tried a number of products but would be very interested to find out the views of other PHers. The question is simple enough do you have a favourite product and why do you like it.
To start the ball rolling I can say I have tried a number of products but the best one to date must be turtle wax platinum extra gloss. I have to say I was really pleased and shocked by the results. To be honest I wasn’t expecting the quality of finish but the question is simple. Is it the best or is there a better product out there.

I use Dodo Juice Diamond white, then seal with autoglym extra gloss. Seems to last for a good while and gives awesome reflections etc. Car is clayed/machine polished with lime prime first. Works well on silver any way, on coloured metalics I've always liked carbrite butterwax it seems to give the colour more depth but still prepare and seal with lime prime and autoglym.
Dodo Juice - I'm not a detailing person but it's just easy to apply gives a lovely wet look and the orange crush has enough citrus smell to keep my cats from sunbathing on the bonnet of my cars that have been waxed ( I keep at least one car unwaxed so they do have somewhere to lay on in the sun
Sorry for the product placement pics - I tried several but the orange crush got it on the cat front
And just the car for a bit of balance
Oh alright the whole car

DoDo Juice.
No brainer
OK I could have just said that No brainer
Dodo Juice - A PH'r looked at what was avaliable and didn't like the cost or content and decided to brew his own up and make it better and having done that offered it to others
I'll support any company that makes things in the UK if their products are good
Another vote for Dodo- I use Supernatural, lasts a good 6 months on the motor, also have Rainforset Rub, Banana Armour, Purple Haze, Diamond White, and Light fantastic all of which are also very good!
Prima Banana Gloss liquid wax is good, about £12 bottle, masks holograms and minor swirls, downside is only lasts about 2 months before it needs re-applying.

Now i know i may get laughed at in the detailing circuits but i bought some stuff called "showroom shine" from a shopping channel, now ad says you dont need water to wash car etc, i dont do that i wash normally then use this as a polish, very easy to use, wipe on and wipe off, really good shine and lasts for ages

LOL - that's goodI don't get out much so i've never heard of it..
For the benefit of others who would like more info on the range

And I must state
1. I'm not a detailer
2. I don't much like waxing cars
3. I don't have OCD* (the plate on the BMW is car related) - *OK I do have a little OCD
I like anything that is easy to use and gives great results
Got a whole load of detailing products as my brother runs a mail order company in detailing supplies and I like to try new stuff ever now and then.
Dodo Juice Supernatural gets a definite thumbs up from me, lovely stuff to work with, probably competitive with the four figure waxes from the usual purveyors in terms of ultimate shine and you can get a 30 mil panel pot for two tenners that easily covers my TVR four times over (i.e. enough for two years or so). However I also worked my way through a tin of Chemical Guys 50/50 Limited Edition whatchamacallit and being a total amateur I am hard pressed to tell the difference (that is, my prep work is probably not good enough to tell the difference between final wax coats of either).
After prepping (Dodo Juice Lime prime is luvverly) I always start with a coat of good old Collinite sealant before applying the super dooper wax, tough stuff that's easy to work with.

For the price Collinite 476 is hard to beat - very durable and a tub will last forever. Better finish is achievable with more expensive stuff but I doubt it's worth it really.
Don't ever leave it on too long in the sun though
+1000000000 on not leaving it on too long! Didn't do it in the sun (we don't get the sun here up north) but it was still an utter PITA to remove when I left it on too long...Don't ever leave it on too long in the sun though
Agree it's a great wax, especially for the money.
