Fitted mine at the weekend. Pretty easy to do (if you're a pro at taking your vette's dash to pieces like me!).

The shift on the thing is awesome! Makes the old one feel like you are rowing a boat!

As it's so stiff (to begin with anyway), it's quite an effort to get it into Reverse, but it's well worth it!

It does seem a little more noisy than the original, though, and I followed the installation instructions exactly. Not so you'd notice, mind - I'm just being picky...

Thoroughly recommend it - makes my vette feel sportier than ever!

Which springs did you fit ? I found that the lightest ones were best as both the medium and stiff ones made me miss the 5-6 shift occasionally.

I went with the springs that are ready installed. I think they're the medium ones - stiff, but usable...

You can keep the boot the same way up and trim it rather than inverting it and this apparently cuts the noise right down. There was a thread about it on www.corvetteforum.com.

Some people have cut old tennis balls to fit. You can also stuff the gap with sponge foam like I did. Mind you I still remember the first test I did with all covers removed, oh boy did it sound great on a Sunday morning with no sound deadening in place !

Reminds me of the time my girlfriend drove the Camaro. She said that a stonking shifter - really glides between the gears. No, I gasped, it's an automatic...
