Ear protectors for a baby?

It finally caught up with me and from 2012 for me Le Mans becomes a family affair.

We're heading down for a week's holiday before the big weekend, and whilst the missus isn't interested in the race (and I know I probably won't wangle staying at the circuit for the whole weekend), we will probably wander in with our 6-month old (in June), more likely for evening quali or something (as I say she's not desperately interested, so will probably guard the tent with wine and cheese!).

Can anyone recommend some suitable ear protection for the baby? Like I say I don't imagine we will be in the circuit with him that much at all, but even if we go on the pitwalk and one of the cars is started, we obviously don't want his ear drums damaged (a friend's baby really didn't like the noise in a big way the other year).

Taken last year after the start. They were adult sized and I don't think the toddler was being too disturbed by the noise.



edit: just noted it was for a 6 month old... might actually be too large.

Brought these small adult sized ones from Baca Northampton. Worked fine at dragster demo!

By the way this little one celebrated his 1st birthday at Le mans in 2009. (Not that I've taken him, his brother or my wife since! lol

I don't think adult ear protection will do. There will be a lot of leaking noise. For 10 - 15 quid you can get specialized baby stuff. I think your child's health is worth such an humble amount!

Of course if you haven't got the common sense to be able to tell whether they're providing adequate protection then I would suggest paying out for the ones with Disney characters on! If I need to explain how u can tell then maybe people need to spend more time with their offspring or maybe even produce one in the 1st place.

Thanks for the suggestions, the Peltor's seem a good way to go and as you say made to fit a kiddie that size. Ta!

Of course if you haven't got the common sense to acknowledge the fact that specialized kid's stuff is better than small adult stuff, yeah then you could get the one with Winnie the Pooh on it. I'd rather be safe than sorry and get some decent material.... After all, it's your child's health you're risking here.

we've got them for our 1 yr old and they are very good. Good enough for mallory park anyhow!!

Got Peltors for our 3 year old. He seems pretty happy with them on and regularly falls asleep in the car with them.

Mrs is now jealous, but if it means she goes in the circuit more, then cool!
