Hmm...
I've been driving over 10 years, never claimed or had points, live in a "C" rated postcode, have access to and use 4 other cars, have a history of more valuable and more modded cars, and now drive a 325ti on coilovers worth £2750 tops. I've only got 2 years NCB as I had 4 years with a classic car policy, and the cheapest insurance quote I can get is £807. On the OH's Smart fourtwo MHD it's still over £600

WHY?! In 10 years my insurance has only ever crept up!

Is Insurance voodoo witch-craft?

I've added my dad to my policy as he drives it a bit, as does my other half, changed my job title to the cheapest option relevant to my position, and the car is parked on a driveway.

Any other tips, or should I resign myself to the fact I'm going to get bummed for insurance forever?!

Sounds like you live in a post-code that they really don't like. frown

Insurance premiums go up because insurance costs go up - a combination of inflation, increasing personal accident claims, busier roads, and a few other odds and ends.

This, really.

A C-rated postcode could actually be quite a bad one, remember they are broken down more specifically than those brackets. If the Smart is costing that much for a woman to insure, I presume it is the postcode that's at fault.

Its usually cheaper to park it on the road for some reason.

My insurance went down again this year for the 3rd year in a row smile

2 years NCB is hurting you, why so few if you've been driving for 10 ?
Only 2 Years NCB as I had a classic car for 4 years, and with that policy I didn't get any NCB with it!

I will see if I can find out the specifics on my postcode... The £600 was a quote for me on her Smart car! She also had a prang which was her fault within 18 months which again probably doesn't help me!

It's still rubbish! I've got it down by £67 at the moment, but I've had some very odd quotes!

Don't worry, I have my trusty Magic 8-ball(R) here.

Don't remember seeing that one before, but then, the ball hath spoken!
