I was at the NIA last night to see them. Excellent as ever but I think the loss of a few key members to Brit Floyd has impacted them. I saw Brit Floyd last year and think they top APF musically. APF's light and laser show is cracking though!
Who does the Comfortably Numb solo now?Last I saw them they were still one band and the lead guitarist is now with BF.
I saw them at the Basingstoke Anvil last week, really good. Next year they're playing DSOTM all the way through to celebrate it's 40th anniversary. I saw BF last year and was really impressed, i couldn't say who were better musically, they're both brilliant. I've seen APF about 5 times now.

Anybody going to see them this Saturday at Jodrell Bank Observatory.
Cannot think of a better venue than under the shadow of the Lovell Telescope.
Just hope that it is a fine evening and that they make plenty of use of the Lovell Telescope as a projector screen.
Also playing are Hawkwind, The Time & Space Machine, The Lucid Dream

Weather is due to be good. Unfortunately I've got my kids, otherwise I would've gone as it's only 10-15 mins from my house Cannot think of a better venue than under the shadow of the Lovell Telescope.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day at Jodrell Bank. Liked the science arena area with enthusiastic staff/students doing and explaining various sciency things ranging from general astronomy, the Large Hadron Collider, stuff about graphene etc.
Enjoyed the 2 unknown bands, The Time & Space Machine, The Lucid Dream. Hawkwind were good. Never been into Hawkwind so never paid much attention to their stuff apart from the usual tracks that get played on the radio. I'm assuming the set that they played was some concept album? Liked the way at the end they mentioned Lemmy not being in the best of health and finished with Motorhead.
Aussie Floyd were excellent as always. Not seen them for about 18mnths so looks like they have redone some of the animation stuff. When it finally got dark enough and the the backing images that normal show on Mr. Screen also came up on the Lovell Telescope was brilliant.

There are more photos of the day over on Jodrell Banks site. http://photos.jodrellbanklive.co.uk/004/
Will definitely keep an eye out for what concerts they put on next year.
General observation. Why is there always a few tw**s that insist on taking green laser pointers and shinning them at the stage or as in tonight shining them onto the telescope.

Some good pics there
It was an awesome day, weather was so much better than last year, and the use of the Lovell dish was just what I hoped for given the disappointment of Elbow's use of visuals... was been told by my 2 Jodrellite chums that this was just as good as when the Flaming Lips played at Transmission 001.
We did what is turning out to be a pre-Jodders event of beers in Holmes Chap before getting an early afternoon train to Goostrey, a quick refreshment at the Red Lion and then a walk through the fields to Jodders....what a great way to spend a sunny Saturday...

New Order and Johnny Marr were headlining yesterday, and were apparently brilliant...although I'm not sure I could have done 2 days on the trot!
Am off to see Sigur Ros and probably the Halle at the end of next month....am so lucky to have this on my doorstep...

Hawkwind were as good as ever, the stage show always seems to be just this side of naff. Never seen APF before and was very pleasantly surprised. Lots of people were smoking dope, drinking and generally having a good time. The weather helped of course. I'll look forward to next year.
Loved APF, especially the subtle Aussie reworkings in some of the tracks!
If that bell end with the laser pointer had been near me I would very much like to have taken it off him!
I saw hawkwind year before last at the Academy and loved them but found them slightly more incomprehensible this time... Gotta love the crazy though.
