Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay is facing a driving ban after pleading guilty to speeding.
The star was clocked at 105mph in a four-wheel drive vehicle in Perthshire on February 26.
The 34-year-old, whose licence bears his full name Jason Kay, did not attend the hearing at Perth Sheriff Court.
His solicitor John McLaughlin said he was unable to attend because he was recording in New York.
Sheriff Michael Fletcher ordered that the singer appear in person at the court for sentencing on September 6.
The star was stopped after overtaking a string of cars after being held up on a busy stretch of the A9 near Perth.
Tayside officers pulled him over after he was clocked exceeding the 70mph speed limit in his top-of-the-range car, registration V8 JAY.
He had been enjoying a break at his Highland getaway in Gairloch, Ross-shire, and was travelling back to his 75-acre estate in Horsenden, Bucks.
In a letter to the court, he explained: "I was returning from my house in Gairloch to England for an important appointment. I'd set out early in the morning but had become stuck behind slow moving traffic on the single-carriageway road. That meant I had been travelling for four hours at an average of about 30 miles an hour by this stage.
"I was not driving a fast sports car but a four-wheel drive vehicle which meant I wanted to make the most of this overtaking opportunity. I drive very many miles each year and my driving licence is extremely important to me. I appreciate the maximum penalty for this offence could lead to the loss of my licence and this is a matter of grave concern to me."
I think you'll find it's a souped up 5 litre version called a G500, made in vary small numbers.

I have seen a G Wagen on its roof on the hard shoulder along with two sets of very wiggly skid marks suggesting a failed emergency lane (3 to 2) change on the A3. It also had two very suspicious looking lumps under blankets next to it. Hopefully they do something with the suspension as well as the engine!

hardly!!
105mph overtaking because you are "held up" ? thats suggesting 70mph overtaking is too slow??
its possible to overtkae without reaching that speed...

As others have noted, I'm referring to that speed in a lumbering oldee stylee 4x4 like the G-spot. An RS6 would probably stop in half the distance of a std G-spot.
