Help finding Hawaiian Tropic picture / Le Mans program
Discussion
This is a bit of a random request. A few years ago, probably 2008 or 2009, I had a copy of an ACO magazine from the race. Can’t remember if it was the official program or some extra magazine the ACO produced. I had ACO membership back then and I remember they used to send through a load of extra stuff. Anyway, they did a feature on the Le Mans 24 Hours from one year in the 60s or 70s. Of small note in this article was the fact it was the very first year the Hawaiian Tropic girls were on the grid. There was an inset picture of one of the HT girls standing in front of a 911 IIRC. Does anyone have a copy of the magazine and can you scan the picture and post it here? I want to contact the ACO and ask for a print from their archive. It’s a very significant piece of motor racing history that will look good on my basement wall! If you don’t have said picture, perhaps you could use this thread as an excuse to post your best HT pictures from over the years

The man to speak to is Stuart Radnofsky at Project 100 (http://www.project100.com/motor.html).
He was "Mr HT Girls" until change of brand ownership saw HT withdraw their sponsorship.
a tough job but I guess someone had to do it. poor guy!He was "Mr HT Girls" until change of brand ownership saw HT withdraw their sponsorship.
sorry cannot help but I do have a memory of a HT history photo montage somewhere in my book collection but just had a quick flick through and cannot find it, maybe I dreamt it!
bound to be a Dick Barbour car though and the earliest I can find is 1978 with a 935. Best of luck in your quest.

FraMac, yes if you can have a look through the ACO programs that would be great! As I say, the picture appeared in a look back on the 24 hours from a particular year. Probably the 70s.
Dobbo - I've gone through the official guides for 08 and 09 - sorry - no piccies matching your description (every guide has a "look back" feature, but I went through the whole programmes).- Big edit* - 2008 Programme p80 2 HT girls errrrrrrr with their backs to the photographer looking over their shoulders.

It certainly beats the hell out of "Fly Fishing by JR Hartley"

Damn right. Going through the programmes I found a picture of The Popemobile.
Jim "The Pope" passed away recently - The Popemobile was an ex RAF mobile air traffic control Bedford unit that parked on Porsche Curves for many years. Jim (The Pope) I only met once, but he summed up Le Mans disciples pretty well.

Yes, please post on here. No need to crop the rest of the article or anything. Whatever is easiest. I just want to be able to send a version of the image to the ACO, requesting if they can sell me a print. Really appreciate the help!
