Hi all,
bought my first tuscan last week,
needless to say now need to look at fixing some points and not sure where to start

first off i took it out after buying it and was greeted with a bit of mis-firing always a good start then accelerator stuck so turned back and booked it in garage

was water in the leads etc easily fixed so took it out again today properly only waited 6-7 years for today and loved it
now teething issues need sorting

as soon as i picked it up door module stop working in passenger door- is this easily fixed or is it new module ?

heat through gear knob? best soloution?

side mirroe glass? which is it based on ?

other parts on list to do, with owning it 1 week are as follows let me know if you can advise

front spliter? sides or main front
clear indicator lens
floor cover for behind pedals
new door module
rear splitter? not sure as yet
rear spoiler
rear spider alloy

also gonna attack carperts tomorrow where they have come out of position etc should be fun

what west yorkshire/yorkshire garages are best to use and local meets etc

thanks John

hi John

joining the car club is your best bet for knowledge on these cars. Ph's is great but chatting face to face also gives you a different prospective with these cars. good luck with your new purchase

Hi John
Congrats on your purchase, I am fairly new to Tuscan ownership myself. Plenty of people will be along to help out with technical advice, however
Heat through the gear knob can be reduced by fitting a heatsink in place of lever under the knob. I think they are made from Tufnol.
You say the passenger door module has stopped. Do you mean it cannot be opened from the outside. If so the anti hijack button may have been pressed. This is a small button next to the imobiliser socket. it locks the doors and boot whilst driving.
Garages in west Yorkshire, the only one I have had experience with is RT Racing in Sheffield, very helpful.
Not sure with the rest of your points and I will stand corrected on any points I have mentioned. Enjoy, they really are wonderful cars.

whats the soloution if anti hijack has been activated as probs worth a try

if Anti highjack has been pressed, it just needs to be pressed again to unlock. I accidentally pressed it when i first got my car and hence couldn't open the boot when at Morrisons in Sheffield waiting to refuel!!

Congrats on the car John. Where abouts are you? I use Track v Road across in Clitheroe for servicing. Well worth the drive.

Has the car been standing with little use recently? My passenger door sometimes plays up if the battery is a bit low. The window drops but the solenoid doesn't fire to open the door. If I keep pressing the button on the mirror it will eventually open.

Re the mirror glass, the proper heated ones are hard to get hold of now. I bought a non heated replacement glass from ebay and swapped the heating mat across by peeling it off the original glass and re-sticking on new.

Sequence is left, then right then centre (the bigger one). The rev thresholds at which they come on can be set via the setup menus on the pod screen. Check your handbook (page 21ish I think) which will give you the details, but if I recall you hold in the function button (bottom right of the pod) for a few seconds and then press the fog light button(top left of the pod) briefly and let go of both together.

cheers lads, yeah still taking a bit to let her rip properly ill ease into it though kind of want to make sure everythings right first splitters etc no major shocks, she seems to tram a little abit when i do open her up aswel but only done about 60-100 miles so far

as for module issue was actually the accuator in the door which also gave us chance to look at connections in generall in door and window and clean them all up

Make sure your tyre pressures are about 24 rear and 22 front before you let rip. it's a TVR Tuscan and it will bite you at some point!!

cheers basil, im living close to bradford ,
noticed the passenger door has a delay in opening in general form alarm takes about 3 seconds compared to the drivers door,
i will look into track v rod for service not due for a little bit mind was more of a piece of mind service, noticed you used drivestyle hc on a previous thread how did you find them to be?

This should fit and reduce the heat through the gearstick. If it fits the Sagaris, T350 and Tamora, it fits the Tuscan.
