Is this normal ?

Hi. 4 weeks in to Cerb ownership and having been a long time driving "soft" sports cars I have a couple of questions.

My car had a new clutch and hydraulics about 2000 miles ago, is it normal for the pedal to be fairly stiff ?

Also it doesn't seem happy at low speeds/traffic , and I get the kind of judder unless I dip the clutch , is this normal in an Sp6 Cerb ?

I am on a learning curve.

Also having fun trying to solve a lot of wind noise from the passenger window at speed.

Ah the joys of hand built cars !

Other than that it pulls like a train which is the fun part of course !

depends what you consider a heavy clutch but yes most tvr clutches are a little weighty

i think the judder your describing is what they call drivetrain shunt, they're not great lovers of driving slow

you could change the door rubbers, a cheap and easy job to do but no guarantee it'll cure the wind noise but it might help make it more water tight!

but i wouldn't be to disheartened these sound like all very normal issues.

Hmmm doesn't sound right. My Speed 6 is smooth as warm butter at low speed and the clutch reasonably light and progressive. Are you sure someone hasn't sneeked an AJP under the bonnet, they are much less agreeable at having to mooch around in traffic

All my tvr's have had light clutches , never noticed the pedal being hard work.

Variety is the spice of life my 4.5 had a very heavy clutch pedal after 6,000 miles last year the slave died and fingers on the plate were shot, the new Raceproved slave and AP clutch fitted it's light as a feather now, they do vary!!

New slave seals lightened the clutch significantly on mine.

My SP6 has a light clutch and will also run at 30mph in 5th ok if needed.
I'd check your throttle bodies are all taking in the same amount of air for a starter.

My clutch is pretty heavy but i would regard it as normal for a Tvr compared to my civic everyday drive ! has it had std clutch fitted or upgraded ? although i like the sound of these light clutches other people are talking about

As for windows are they going up far enough ? if you take door panel off its very easy to adjust position of window when closed ! glass is held in place by 2 clamps



we adjusted a friend of mines so they were slightly further forward in runner giving a better seal and cut down on noise

You cant adjust the closing height of the window by shifting it in the clamps. It is set by the limit microswitch at the front edge. If you raise the glass in the clamps it will just clear the switch sooner and stop in the same place. You need to adjust the microswitch to change the close height.

You can however adjust it from front to back, you need to work out where the noise is coming from to know which way to move it. If you move it too far you will create a problem at the other end of the window!
