TVR alloys same fitment as FORD

Can anybody clarify this because TVR wheel fitments are PCD 4 X 108//OFFSET 35.38//BORE 63.3 exactly the same as FORD
Not all TVRs use the same hubs, but the ones with four wheel stubs all use the standard Ford stud pattern. Bear in mind though that the wheels themselves also need to be the correct diameter, width, offset etc as well as having the correct hub mounting.
So basically TVR's with a four stud pattern will be compatable with FORD alloys, the offset and the bore of a Fiesta, Escort, Sierra, Puma and KA are the same as a four stud TVR, but doesn't the griffith use Sierra brake disks too?? the reason I need to know is because this will widen my search for some aftermarket alloys, lets face it Ford is a lot more common than TVR....Gav, read it hear at www.tyresave.co.uk/fitment.html

I'm not sure whether you're talking about the wheel offset or something else, but just to reiterate: just about any Ford wheel will use the same stud pattern and center bore so it will physically fit on the hub. From that point of view, yes the standard Ford wheels will fit those TVRs that use four stud hubs (S series, Griffith, Chimaera). But (and it's a big BUT) just because it will go on doesn't mean it is suitable for the car. You need to get the correct offset. I expect different Fords use a different offset and I wouldn't assume that *any* of them are the same as TVR use. From that point of view, they are completely different cars with different suspension geometry, drive train, weight distribution and so on. Basically, you are looking for a TVR spec wheel using a Ford stud pattern, and not a Ford wheel.
Hope this makes sense,

Pete has said most of it, but one things for certain, Ford wheels will have the same off-set f&r because you can switch front and rear wheels around. TVR Griffiths have a different off-set at the front and rear, and it is not 35.38mm Before you buy anything you need to ensure that you can get the wheel in your specific off-set and you need to decide what this must be based on your existing off-set (25mm front and 35mm rear I think) also if you go for a wider rim width you need to take this into account when decidfing what off-set to go for. quote:Maybe Matt but remember that the centre bore of the wheel must seat the raised lip on the hub, the wheel nut simply hold it on. If you go for more than about 5mm you will push the wheel away from the hub and have no interface between the centre bore and the lip. Rich...
an option is to use wheel spacers to change to offset if there is only a mild difference (and the right way.) Cheers![]()
Matt.
From my aborted enquiries, the rear wheels are Ford spec (108mm pcd, 35/40mm offset) but the front ones are closer to Peugeot spec (108pcd, 25mm offset).
The 35mm offset is probably OK at the front but the major hiccup is that most Ford wheels are maximum 7" wide. You need at least 7.5" width for the rears.
