Hi Chaps
I thought i'd pop a post on here for those who may be interested in a Remap.
Via the M3Cutters forum, a group buy for the remap is in progress, I'm signed up and will be getting my map done soon.
Normally they charge around £400 and its £325 with the Group Buy (for the E46 M3) And they do remap other cars, so if unsure contact them direct and also they will confirm prices accordingly.
Let me know if you want me to put you on the Group Buy List, if you're not already signed up on the forum.

And yes they can do Z3/Z4 etc.
Once payment has been made and approved by evolve, you just book in a convenient time/date. Minimum 10 pple required.

Standard m3 probably putting out 330bhp as mentioned above, CSL 360bhp. So the Evolve remap gives you 15bhp and you are back to the quoted figures, still a way off CSL power though. Understand now?Hello chaps,

If you think the gains are a load of tosh then thats excellent, Save money and don't get the remap.
For those who want to feel the extra gains then contact Evolve.

If the closing question is regarding your figures, then, NO, I don't.
Do you really need me to point out the differences in states of tune for particular engines or applications of engines? Especially between M and non-M engines which we are comparing here. It is well proven that there is no "real" gain to be had from remapping an S54 engine as they're in such a high state of tune already from the factory. Especially via a two bob plug-in-a-laptop-and-upload-a-generic-map job. I can understand some small expectation if the car is live mapped and has exhaust/intake mods which might free up some ponies but not otherwise.

Yet BMW M division spent hundreds of thousands and changed many parts in order to acheive +17BHP.

As I stated initially, they should have just applied a remap, far easier.

I'm one of the many, as you say, gullible fools who have parted with their hard earned for a generic Evolve map on their M3; the power and torque gains are relatively small on paper but they're easily felt on the road and Imho the extra power, sharper throttle response, removal of flat spots and smoother running when the engine is cold are easily worth the money. The reduced £325 group buy price is a bonus.I notice you have Z4M roadster; "it is well proven that there is no "real" gain to be had from" fitting an induction kit to an S54 engine; yet some gullible fool was willing to pay big money, relative to the remap cost above, just for their car to sound different. Gruppe M induction on an S54 is about 1500 pounds plus fitting i believe. I doubt the person who paid for it was forced to have the work done; the the people interested in the group buy can spend their hard earned how they see fit too.
