Afternoon all

time has come to buy myself some more products as I low and need to get the car looking good now that weather has improved

always used Autogylm and Meguias products - they seem to do a good enough job - but nothing special

dont want to spend a fortune and need to remove some small sratches / inperfections caused by previous owner

thinking of getting
Swirl remover 2
White diamond
Nattys Paste Wax

seem to get good reviews online

anybody used these?

Nothing against Poorboys but you can buy better. For swirl removal so long as you have a G220, PC or rotary then either Menzerna or Maguires (professional) will get the best from your paintwork. Use a glaze to deepen the shine and then cover with either a Collinite for durability or Dodo Juice for wetness! Chemical Guys make some great products too.

What colour and make of car are you working on??

I bought some of the wheel cleaning stuff, it worked brilliantly and came it a good size bottle with a substantial trigger mechanism......Which worked once (as in did all four wheels with it then put it away). Poured the liquid into another old bottle and again, worked once. Repeated process again and same result, I can only assume that whatever is in it makes trigger mechanisms no worky worky.

thanks for the comments

its a Silver E46 BMW

unfortunatly I dont have a machine - so will be doing it all by hand

might be a stupid question - but does a clay bar remove any swirls or is it simply for removing bedded in dirt?

cheers

BMW clearcoats are pretty tough so by hand you wont achieve much other than masking. Clay will only remove top level detriment and will not touch swirls which are usually V shaped cuts to the protective coating on top of the paint. To remove these you will need a polisher and some time!!

I was planing on doing exactly this, but since read that 476S will remove the Blackhole due to the solvents in it. Instead I used some Autoglym UDS that I happened to have as it's a sealant and won't lift the BH.

I've since bought some WetGlaze 2.0 that is fine with 476S over the top of it, plus it gives a wetter looking shine than BH, though it doesn't fill as much. I just machine polished my OH's Mini's bonnet tonight and it came up a treat with WG 2.0 and 476S over it, nothing to fill of course as the machining corrected any swirls and marks...just got to do the rest of the car now. smile
