Being tall 6'6" my 2005 Tamora seat needs to be right back. When I push it back 'till the top of the seat touch's the hood alloy arm. It is about right but under braking the seat slides forward a couple of inches - most disconcerting.

I am not sure if the catch mechanism not working at the back end of the seat rails or am I pushing the seat back beyond it's working limit?

Any thoughts?

Take the seat out and have a look at the mechanism. It should lock into place. when you push it back, it might not be locked into place which is why it slides forward.? How about moving the pedal box.

I'm a relative midget at 6' 1', but have you checked the position of the pedal box? The factory settIng seems to be the middle, so it is possible to gain another couple of inches of leg room by getting the box moved forward. I had my done and don't need the seat all the way back .
I know this doesn't solve your actual problem but it might worth checking, just have a look underneath you can easily see which set of holes have been used.

Thanks guys

Moving the pedal box is on the agenda as it is in the middle position. I was trying to ascertain if there was a problem or if I just found a TVR idiosyncrasy.

Interesting I didn't know you could do this. I'm the same size as you. and could do with the same as the seat is rubbing against the alcantara which covers the seatbelt card trim. A few inches forward would resolve this.

Is this procedure in the orange book?? If not is it easy to do? Any info would be appreciated

On the basis that the bolts will be rusted solid, dealer reckons about two-three hours when i asked.

Buzz, I got Str8six to move mine. Undoing the bolts wasn't a problem (as I had already had a go myself), but the hydraulic lines for brake and clutch being disturbed did concern me, hence getting someone who knew what they were doing to do the job.

The bible certainly does mention what's needed for moving the pedal box.

For anyone over 6" , it really makes all the difference.
