Saw a lightweight car ramp for dogs elsewhere @ £50 and thought that was steep. Mine has no problem getting on the bed ( usually at 2am) rolleyes

Forgot to say ,he doesn't regard himself as "Small" .
I'd suggest that's something for the "Tricky Woos" of this world .smile

Nice sounding idea - whatever the price. Wouldn't work with ours.

Just got a new mattress - about 13'' compared to the old 7'' model. Nice and comfy for everyone. Old setter wouldn't jump up before - now he needs lifting. (Even the young one has a climb - yes - its a very full king size - small dogs !!)

As i'm in the 'middle' MrsMercs has to get out of bed and do the lifting. rofl

Its funny how it starts the night as thirds (Classic / Mrs / Setters) but come the morning its at least 50:50 - two legs/four legs.

To be honest it'd be a waste of money if it wasn't.

Had that a few times with our lad and the settee. He makes a half hearted attempt, and looks at me, pleading. I put him up ,he stops there for a while, jumps off to lie on the floor( possibly to cool off) and then he jumps back up . Swear he's auditioning for the doggy Oscar.

Indeed. See cat thread sadly frown Dachshunds are true scent hounds and should never be confused with toy dog types.

Pal of my lads is a Dachshund.Watching them together ( play is too strong) the Dach behaves more like a terrier than anything else . But the other dogs in the Dachs house are big GS, and the owner tells me that if there's going to be problems with strange dogs, it's the Dachs that will start them .

£179! Yeah right! My dachshund had to put up with a cardboard box with carpet tile on top for his ramp.

My sons have friends from lots of different religious backgrounds, and nationalities, including travellers. But man's best friend always has to be a dog.

MY lad ,is a rather large (approx 11.5kg) , dark haired Cairn Terror. Loves kids of any age. Can get on with most dogs ( except Staffs) ,after he knows they will be friendly. The DACHS I referred to is one of a group which includes three very large GS. Mine is accepted by all , but its fun to see terror and Dachs mingling( I won't say playing ,as it's not that, but just acceptance of each other)They just seem to accept each other. Possibly it's that the Dachs is used to relying on GS protection, and now that the GS have accepted mine, they don't interfere, and Dachs has decided not to push his luck . Or is it that Dachs is deferring to age?
