stay with it bud,mine is in the same boat always in bits etc.currently having outriggers done and mot .....which i have just been informed she failed due to emisions 
car has been away near 7 weeks,and i still have many many jobs left.I think that tvr's or infact most classis type cars all suffer this kind of life style,garages just seem to wanna keep em for an age.

every little job makes them better.. Once you are on top of it it just gets better and better.. At the moment I am loving mine its the best its ever been.. Prob better than when new to drive.. These are 20 year old cars and not all have been well cared for..
if you can afford to persivere it will come good..

The question is, why are you thinking this ....really? Do you want to move on, do you need reassurance, is it part of something else which manifests as an apparent issue with the TVR?
The second question is why are you asking a forum of obsessive TVR fanatics....
You live in Cornwall, so I suggest you go to the beach, in the TVR if possible, sit down away from the crowds and have a think .... Then make your decision
Ps speaking as a TVR fanatic I would say keep it. Even over the other types of tvrs - the people are the best and the car is more understated, over-the-top image if you know what I mean.

Well mine is certainly scruffy , I just feel that I am doing the bare minimum to keep it on the road, I know as it is its good to sell, the chassis engine and box are all good but if I get a major problem next mot I think I will be up the creek, some of the body lift pictures with rotten out riggers give me the hebe jeebies

,if my engine blows up next week,or my gearbox fails coming home from the garage next week after a 2k spend then i will put her back in my garage and sort it out when time and funds allow.I bought into a great scene when i bought my tvr,and i can say with hand on heart i will always stay with it now.....im 46 years old and left it tooooooooo late to join in the madness.
ps i take my motor to cornwall over the summer, Helston area if you ever want to meet up and have a laugh.....drinks on you sir

It's been said before that the sence of community on this forum is amazing and I thank you all for your comments , gonna mull it over. I might list it in the classifieds for money I can't refuse and drive it in the mean time it might help bump prices up across the board and if it doesn't sell decision made.

"They" have forecast that the coming summer is going to be as sunny or sunnier than 1976, which I will always remember (I'm an old git!) as one of the best ever.If you sell your TVR before this, you'll be kicking yourself for the rest of your days.
Just do whatever's required to get it on the road and enjoy.......
My S has been up on axle stands for the best part of a month whilst I did various jobs, as soon as I
got it out and got the top off I knew it had been worth the skinned knuckles & backache.
Wish I could do something about this stupid grin though!

Yr on ! If I can afford the tax , and fuel I will put a fiver aside for a babycham !Or is that what the emmetts have to pay?

Don't sell yet, especially if it is gong to be a good summer, wait a few months as the price will go up when the better weather gets here and you get a few months of good weather open top motoring.
God I hope it will be as good as 1976, I too am an old git who remembers that long hot one. I sense some major involvement in oil company profits on my part if it is a good one!

Bloody typical - forecast a good summer & mine's in complete bits (and will be for another year - labour of love & all that).Mike - at the end of the summer last year I decided that I was going to roll my sleeves up and 'have a go' at doing a full body off restoration of my S (I've owned it 10 years this year
). Then I lost my job!!! You know what - the cars in bits and I'm doing all the work myself - a lot of elbow grease & bruised knuckles but, when I get back to my feet financially I know that it'll still be there for me to re-build & I'll know that I did it all myself I guess what I'm trying to say is keep at it - the thought of summer 2013 keeps me going when I look at all the 'bits' of the car currently hibernating in my garage.
