some 25 years ago we took a much loved and perfectly running 1947 TC off the road as it was no longer a suitable business car.

When we lost storage space it was dismantled and put into a number of boxes.

15 years ago the chassis was rejigged, refurbished and painted and a rolling chassis built up. It was clear that a new Ash frame would be required together with door skins and rear body work, all nice flat sheet work so dead straight forward but everything else, apart from one door handle was there.

The arrival of a new Morgan +8 meant that the MG was once again dismantled to provide garage space, restoration postponed awaiting a house move.

The driver has recently suffered from a severe RTA and is unlikely to ever be fit enough to use the car again.

Restoration by a pro outfit, around £16-17K, value after restoration, about the same. Prior to RTA it was worth doing, after all when you've had a car for 35 years you become attached to it. Post RTA sadly its not an option.

Does any PHer at large have an idea of how much a boxed restoration project TC is worth on the open market?
