Why is it that the high percentage of Range Rover drivers feel that it's so necessary to get a private plate? It's incredibly unoriginal and basically somewhat sad! Come on black Range Rover drivers......share with us why you do this?

He has a point, there does seem to be a lack of imagination, but the Range Rover (Sport or Full Fat is a nice car and people do like to personalise but there does seem to be a million or so with the same idea, they are everywhere, more common tan a base spec Focus round here.

Our Sport (more specifically my wife's) has the number plate from her first car on it, as has every car she has previously owned and every future car she will own.

Yes, we look like travellers because she's from Norn Iron and the plate is IBZ 5664. hehe

We also have a twin axle caravan

How does having a personalised plate show a lack of imagination? There are two choices, either not having one, or having one. The former is the default and it could be argued that sticking with the original reg is showing a lack of imagination.

What a stupid thread this is.

Popular car in a popular colour with a private plate shocker. OP shut up and get on with your life. If people want a private plate its there life there car and certainly better than having a standard issue plate.

Drive to Cheshire and witness the legions of RRS/FFRS with private plates on then comment, our neighbour had two until recently, one white, one black with his initials on, now down to one, there are so many cars around so the number of them seems disproportionate, you never see that many Cayennes for example.

The RR is a high end car. In the same league as S Class', 7 Series, XJ, A8 etc. All these types of cars have private plates. It's a rare sight when I see one of these cars WITHOUT a private plate.

Look at the Spotted Thread - there is an extremely high proportion of private plates on expensive cars.

Nothing exclusive to the RR.

Drive anywhere in the country and you'll see thousands of cars without personalised plates. What a lack if imagination from them, eh? rolleyes

I stand by my earlier assertion: what a stupid thread.

The replies are actually more crass than the OP, which is quite a feat.

I imagine there are a few to hide the age of the vehicle for those who feel they have to keep up with the Joneses.
