would you please stop announcing the results of the formula one qualifying and race ,before they come on bbc tv .

a frantic scramble for the radio 2 this morning saved me from knowing who came 2nd and 3rd in quailifying ,but i wasn't so lucky last week ,and despite my best effort , i knew who won both qual and race ,before they came on .

i have calculated this reduced the enjoyment of these events by 76.34% qual ,and 65.43% race .

and the qual today wil suffer a 43.21% reduction in viewing excitement .

i do i really do understand that there is a large component of the bbc that feels cheated ,nay betrayed ,by the prostitution of a national sport to gouging money grabbing advertophile sky ,

and that this proportion of the bbc has probably made life a little hard for those of the bbc that endorsed such a move , but please ,would the news team try to find another way to pay them back other than spoiling it for those of us who just want to enjoy a virginal qual and race ,without pre infosemination ?

regards
robert.

I've been in the office since 7 this morning so decided to stream it on sky go, coverage isn't a patch on the Beeb but it comes with my HD package so can't complain,

you want me to put the results up here smile

It might seem silly, but if you don't want to know the results of something has already happened, then avoid media outlets.

I agree with you OP, even if they said "TURN OFF NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE RESULTS" after all, they are showing the highlights themselves so could be doing themselves out of viewers.

I can't find the Morecombe & Wise avoiding football results sketch, so have the breakfast sketch instead.

But yeah, that annoyed my last week, so this week I found a live stream to watch (ordered Sky this week so consider it like a test drive).

If one was to want to watch a live stream, where would one need to go?

yes

I spent the morning away from any tv channels/radio stations, social media sites, sports/news sites etc.

It's a bit annoying, but worth it for the excitement.

I feel that the BBC's main concern is that they should have Chris Moyles shot in the face repeatedly.

I'll be watching the BBC races when they are shown live smile

I didn't find it particularly difficult this morning although having a toddler in the house helps - 7am to 9am the only media is cbeebies, then walk to the park to play in the sun, walk home for lunch (cbeebies only again hehe) and then put her down for an afternoon nap before watching the F1 on the BBC. I'm pretty sure it'll be similar tomorrow too.

Avoid Twitter/Facebook/PH in the morning (no real struggle), make sure the radio in the car is off.

It's the race highlights of the Bahrain GP. Apart from the start and the finish, not much happens. biggrin Unless you listen to the 5 live commentary, where it sounded like Rosberg tried to kill Hamilton and Alonso, then Alonso diced with death by missing the pit wall by millimeters...

My prediction when I heard about the loss of coverage would be that this would lead to a reduction in interest, and then lower viewing figures and national interest in the sport.

With the BBC (and a few idiot friends on facebook... Putting 'spoiler alert' doesn't work if you don't leave a gap, morons!) ruining all the non live races so far, it's happened quicker than I expected. I've already not bothered with one live and one highlights show; I'm losing interest quickly, which seems a shame given how the season is shaping up. frown

I kept away from the news and radio all day sat, eager to watch the qualifying at 5.15.

10 mins before sit down, turn tv on, final score is on, that's ok, it's about football so no problems here.

Only the fking wking stting tts scroll the quali result across the screen with no warning.

Can I have a refund on my tv license please.

Why don't you just not go on FB or look/listen/watch the BBC?

It's really not that difficult to avoid the results.

yup ,what happened to the old days of

'for those who don't want to know the result , look away now'

business?

my theory is this , bbc in thier kremlin ,have decided to sell f1 to sky totally ,but realise there would be a hooh hah .
so they bang half of it off to the plastic essex tv company ,and have a good go at removing all chances of anticipation and fun for those of use still trying to enjoy it on terrestrial .

then next year ,they can say ,

oh well ,no ones watching it any more ,we may as well sell it all off .and put on more snoocker, golf, eastenders ,weird lesbian ethnic playlets, written by the directors 5th cousin .....removed.......etc !

You need to be told when the sports newsis on, or that there is a chance you may discover some sports news? Really?
