I'm wanting to do a service on the Ult, I have AC Delco 12571164 spark plugs in it at the moment, but nobody seems to know the equivelant in NGK or Champion because I cant seem to get the AC Delco here in the UK.
what oil recommendations would you suggest for an LS2 6ltr with 9k miles, Kendall oil has been suggested but its fully synthetic, any help would be appreciated.
Regards Russell

Hi Russ
The LS engines all use longlife plugs and oil....
5w 30 fully synthetic oil is recommended for regular start long distance use, with the long lay ups between starts(most Ultimas) a lot of US LS engine builders recommend a semi synthetic 10w 40 as it will give you more protection on the short trips and irregular start ups. Miller do a very nice 10w 40 and a nice 5w 30 if you want to go that route. The semi is a lot cheaper and the 5 w 30 will really only be a benefit if used heavilly.
Plugs are longlife in your LS2 i would just gap them 1.0mm and put them back, if you want to change then Denso(Telford hq) do some nice replacements but im afraid they are not cheap as they are longlifers!!
I can get the oil and plugs for you if you want or put you in touch with a local company who can sort them for you. I would change the air filter element in your air intake as that will likely be a bit clogged up if its not been changed recently. I would also remove your fuel filters and give them a good clean as they work hard on the LS motors.
Hope that helps, the oil should be quite dark when you drop it thats fairly normal.
cheers Kyle

Thanks for the replys I have found a supplier for AC Delco plugs from a hot rod guy £4.52 each and will go with replacements rather than gapping, want to stick with whats in, will go with Kendall oil fully synthetic 5w 30 although the oil dipped looks like it has only just been put in like new, air filter and fuel filters ordered.
I must pass on though, I have been told to stay away from Felpro ? (think they are orange) oil filters because the internal components collapse causing a blockage that starves the engine of oil and its game over
thanks again for the replys and advice
