Oil filter will not fill

Hi

Doing my oil change just now, Tried to fill the filter up so it is ready to offer up once i drop the old one off as not to drain the oil pump down.

Problem is my brand new filter (Bought from a reputably tvr supplier) does not seem to want to let oil drain down in to it. Took about 20ml and is just sitting there on the top of the filter????

I don't want to risk removing the old one in case i drain the pump down in case this one is Dodgy.

Any Idea's

To add i have tried giving it a light tap and a few other tricks to let it fill up but to no avail.

Scotty did you put a small funnel into the centre ? Sometime's help's to fill it slowly & push the rubber flap that is under the holes on the outer ring.

Hi yeah i tried that to no avail as well, I left the oil sitting on it for 5 hours and it did not drain in to it.

In the end it met the bin and a quick trip to the local factors picked up a Fram unit that i used last time over for less than £7 not worth the risk.

It was a UMI one i was sent out, i wont be using it again sticking with what i know and works for me.

The Fram unit filled up fine and the new oil is in the car ready for the season
