until someone took the engine out to put in a hillclimb morgan...a few pics from today, the wiring has been chopped up in the foot well and behing the relay box,god knows why...counted about 17 wires chopped so far,the wood venneer has been chipped/flaked of,and some rather sh..te looking silver vinyl stuck over the top...all the dash and cockpit panels have been suede covered in blue, drivers and pass windows resting in place,i think the body must have been of at some stage in its life as its painted red...(i dont think they came like this)has pas,in all not to bad...

Such a shame a rare car like that was butchered just for its engine.
Can't really see it was a cost effective exercise either cry

i think the nck engines were the any rouse tuned ones and had different internals, thats why they took the engine not for a normal rover v8...

I think only the very early 390SE cars had the Andy Rouse engines fitted. NCK (North Coventry Kawasaki) did the engines for the 390 from 1986 onwards.

I've taken on the restoration of this 'mugged' 390SE!!! I've already got a 3.9 V8, so I'll strip it down, and rebuild it to the nearest spec I can get, to the NCK...Or a bit more, if funding permits!!biggrin

I've purchased a vitesse timing cover, and now need the water pump, ancill. brackets, etc
