Hi Guys...

This has probably been covered elsewhere but after a pad change i noticed a slight fluid seepage from the outboard piston seal. So as it was nice weather, out came the new pads and off came the caliper. So i know what I need, does anyone know the seal refurb kit for what i believe is the standard Ford caliper?

See picture below:

thanks in advance

Thanks, just need to confirm the base car of the caliper... is it Cortina Mk? or Granada etc if anyone has the kit part number even better!

Early eighties Granada. Bigred will ask you what size the pistons are; the vented discs have the larger size of the two available.

Well the good news all done today as the weather was good and had time for some fettling ...

Drivers side caliper outboard seal had gone west with a nice pool of fluid under the car yikes

Was quoted anything from £24 to £30 plus VaT plus postage for seal kits, but decided to check my local little motor factors before ordering on line. To cut a long one short he got me a exchange caliper within 2 hours for £40 all in with out the faff factor of the seal change.... jobs a good un!

So here are a few pics for anyone having to do the same job of caliper replacement:

Old one ====>

£40 later and ===>

So a few miles driving to bed them in well pleased!

Thanks for advice fellas

I did the same and bought new calipers rather than trying to fix the lump of rust that was fitted. The one on the left is Cortina and the new one is Granada 2.8i and I fitted the larger vented discs at the same time to match the calipers.
